think about
Aquatron - low flush, or Toatrone - waterless system
If flushing, would you want more than one toilet.
Is your land suitable for in ground disposal of water from the grey water tank - ie good soakage. Check with your local council to make sure there are no issues with them.
Probably good to give the council a link to the website www.ecotoilets.co.nz
You want a ecotoilet system ?
And now the price ! .... Well, we can't tell you ..... Why?
Simple as a ecotoilet system is, there are options which affect the price.
However, in New Zealand a normal installation, includes freight, gst and installation as well as assistance in obtaining a permit.
Fully operational we aim for $10,000.
Costs above this usually come from unusual site conditions.

This price can go up mainly due to your site conditions with extra components.

Comparison between Septic tanks and Ecotoilets
Ecotoilets are different from septic tanks.
With a septic tank ALL waste including solids go to the septic tank. – and the over flow from the top of the tank is dispersed in to the ground
(to lessen ground contamination septic tank must be emptied every year or two). However there is no black water in the ecotoilet sytem – only grey water as the faeces go into compost.
By separating out the urine from the solids you increase the efficiency of the decomposition process, thus ecotoilets are more effective than septic tanks.
So the water coming out of the ecotoilet is much cleaner than what goes into a septic tank.
It can be very expensive to install a septic tank and then, for best results, regular pumping at 1- 2 year intervals (contractor required) makes it a poor comparison with the Eco Toilet.
With poor maintenance a septic tank can become unuseable or at best is very bad for the environment.

We cannot think of a reason to go the septic way!
